147 VDC, ABS System failure -I know, I know....
Morning all, well as usual with these little darlings I've been getting spurious messages on the info panel.
I've always been intermittently getting the old, "side light failure, tail light failure etc" message, & a couple of weeks ago had the side light failure message & it had actually stopped working - a miracle in itself! it's working now though & i didn't even have to change it - an even bigger miracle!
But back to topic, the other intermittent message I've had in the past is the "VDC, ABS system failure". It's the old, usually happens on cold mornings thing, but it came on over Christmas & has been on since. It shows on initial turn on of ignition, then clears when you start to drive, then shows again. I've read about a possible cause of low battery power, however I've also been hearing / feeling a bit of a clunk on full lock from the N/S wheel. It almost feels like a locked diff i.e. wheel "jumping", but as it's usually dark I haven't had chance for a proper look yet! Any thoughts at all would be appreciated. Car handles fine once moving, but i was wondering if it could be the start of a CV joint failure. Would this just be coincidence with the messages?
I've had the car since new, 2004 with about 35k on, probably ready for some new front boots.
Thanks in advance for advice
