2.0 JTS. Maf unit

Daughters car has been playing silly beggars with the engine management warning light. Got the code read and it was the MAF unit. Bought one from the motor factors and it was fine for around 150 miles then the light came back on. Had it at our house today whilst I fixed her window switch- got a 147 switch and used components from both to produce a sound unit that works correctly- I digress.....
Is there a part number for the correct Alfa original fitment MAF unit please? I think the after market unit may not be up to the job? Seems a good place place to start ?

Eper shows it as 46559804. Its coming up at €350 though. Cheap, it ain't

This seems a bit more reasonable though

Thank you for the link. Would like to put a known working unit into it to make sure that's the problem before spending out on another unit.

If i look in ePER I get the p/n 46811312

But you can also remove the MAF sensor from the housing to see the Bosch number on it.
The sensor is probasbly used in other MAFs that is less expensive.

http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-...data-base.html (Maf data base)

The Bosch number for the complete MAF is: 0 280 218 113
The Bosch number for the sensor is: F 00C 2G2 063

Before buying any new spares you might want to check the inlet pipes, the clamps, the air filter and that air filter box is air-tight. MAF problems are also known to occur because of some kind of aftermarked “performance” air filter. If a loose air filter box causes sufficient vibrations the MAF might also break.

Check the MAF for contamination from oil in case e.g. the oil separator valve, which is located "at the end" of the pipe between the inlet manifold and the crankcase, is broken. Contamination from oil can also break the MAF.

Also, make sure the MAF is a genuine Bosch one.
Plenty of rubbish aftermarket MAF or fake/pre-failed around...
