That light is the engine management light. It is normal to have it on when the ignition is on and it should go out after the engine starts.
If the car started normally and you drove to the car park ok, then it may be the crank sensor which is the problem. This stops the car running (or starting) when the engine is hot. Give it 15 minutes then try again, but don`t drive too far! Go straight home or to the garage. Luckily the part is cheap and quite easy to fit.
Alternatively, are you parked nose down on a slope with not much petrol in the tank? You may be starving the fuel pickup of petrol in which case try to roll onto the flat.
