How to remove the carpet from 156

All the signs are I might get the 156 welded up .. so how do you get the carpets out without destroying everything plastic?

I assume the seats come out (done that before to change driver's), the side mouldings (are these held down with screws, clips or the door seal) and centre console along central tunnel.

Anything else???

Cheers

Order some trim tools!

Chances are you will break at least something, having trim tools gives you a fighting chance of not breaking everything! All the plastic is so brittle these days, but plenty of 156s for breaking so finding spares isn't too hard. All the plastic floor trims are on poppers, only the front door trim has one screw at the front, the centre console is mostly screwed down.

Cheers Pud ... toolstation up the road so I'll get some from them ...

BTW: you still drying out up there after the floods (your status!) .. the weather we've been having down here would mean you would be working in a mist!

I'm sure my beer evaporated last night as it went a lot quicker that I normally drink it!

Good to hear it. My lower wishbones came today for the old 156, 17 years young and still being pampered.
