156 jtd temp guage

Hi I have a 55 plate 156 jtd 16v sw and the temp guage bearly registers the electric fan kicks in so no worries there
does it need a new a new thermostat or is it something else
also has anyone got a leather interior for one thanks Neal

Its more likely to be the temp sender, which is screwed into the thermostat and is easily changed. You can use multiscan to check the temperature the coolant is at when the engine is running and see if it is the thermostat or sender.

Think there was a leather interior for sale on gumtree lately...

The fan kicking in doesn't necessarily mean it was needed to cool the engine, it's also used by the aircon. So you can only assume the engine reached 90C if the fan started while aircon was off.
