Hmmm 156 alternater removal woes

new to forum so hello to everybody removed alternater tonight on my mates 156 2.0 litre but surely there is a easier way than i chose this is what i did removed exhaust front pipe gearbox rear mounting and top stabiliser bar i loosened front lower engine mounting and levered engine forward to squeeze alternater past drive shaft to give a bit more of a gap i removed power steering pipe to say this ai a squeeze is a understatement autodata only give 1.85 hours to remove and refit surely someone knows better than me mabe i should have gone uphill any suggestions welcomed THANKS KENNY G

Don't think there is any easy way.....I think some guides suggest removing the driveshaft.....

Good job the alternators are pretty reliable....
