Re: Leather upholstery maintence

Really dirty ----> mild soap and water and a soft nail brush.
Not to bad ----> clean with damp cloth.

Maintain ------> Choice is endless

Autoglym from motorfactors applies easier and requires less time.
The stuff they use for household sofa is good but takes longer to use and requires more effort to finnish it off.
But everyone seems to have a favorite product, think you have to try them and see which suits.

Re: Leather upholstery maintence

I use the Meqiars Gold Foam in a Can. Works wonders.
Spray on Wipe off.....Same with the Dash and Trim Cleaner

Even Makes the Alfa Leather Feel Less "cardboardy".
Bloody South African Leather. Everything is tougher here...

Meguiars is what i use, its works wonders for me. Need a little effort but the finish complements that. I have tried a variety of range and now i stick to Meguiars, cant go wrong with that. HAPPY CLEANING BUD

Re: Leather upholstery maintence

I use 'Turtle Wax Leather Upholstery Cleaner and Maintainer' which does a good job, but if you'd like another option, I'd recommend:

i. soapy water with clothe to remove grime and grease, then
ii. any decent hand/body cream you can find round the house...

...after all it is skin we're looking after!

I use the Meguiars Gold Class leather cleaner, seemed alright to me but I've only done it once and never head leather before!

Re: Leather upholstery maintence

Have a look at Car Interior Detailing - Autopia Car Detailing Forum. If you wish to use a DIY cleaner, try Woollite watered down 6:1

You can buy a purpose made applicator for the cleaner or conditioner but you can use a dish washing pad which is almost as good but significantly cheaper

Re: Leather upholstery maintence

As an Autosmart Distributor I would suggest our Leather Cleaner followed by Leather Supplement.

Used by Bentley & Aston Martin.

Sorry about the name dropping:xmas:
