And Finally...New GT Blackline has arrived at the garage

All,
My Blackline JTDM, ordered at the end of May, is finally at the garage
I'm going to wait until 1st Sept to register it so still have a week of anticipation.
However I'm thinking of taking a trip to see the car before then, do a proper check on it.
Does anyone have a definitive list of things to check on a new GT?
I've seen quite a few threads on paint finish, the creaking boot and wind noise - obviously only some of these will be apparent whilst the car is staionary.
Any further advice would be gratefully received

Re: And Finally...New GT Blackline has arrived at the garage

The key thing to check is the paint finish, I have heard of a few and had experience of one with dodgy paintwork, go and see it and have a good long look at it before you accept it, as it is metalic have a good look in daylight and under artificial light say in the showroom. The creaking boot will not be a problem on a new (later model) car as the seal arrangement and mounting has been modified, windows may whistle a bit but the dealer can easily adjust these once you have settled with the car. Enjoy

Cheers m.barn. Like the tip about looking at it in both daylight and artificial. And the news that the creaking boot has been fixed

C7fnt...Dealt with Gary...So far so good although his original estimation of availibility was a little out. Ordered it at the end of May and was expecting it in July. However, when he had info he called me.
I'm picking it up on Sept 1st...just filling in the paperwork now...

Initially it was only 400 models, 300 diesels and 100 Petrols, however, I think because the first 400 sold out pretty quick they made another 100 but not sure of the split.

There are still some floating about, I know Westerns in Edinburgh have 3 or 4 in stock ready for delivery.

I ordered mine in mid May and it was ready for delivery early July but didn't get round to picking it up until end of July.

It'll be nearer 10 before I get there. I've got to ferry kids to various sporting events before I'm free. I'm telling myself it'll heighten the anticipation.
May pop up tomorrow for a quick look whilst dropping off my insurance details

Re: And Finally...New GT Blackline has arrived at the garage

Nice one,

Had my own GT for 2 1/2 years - enjoying it like the first day & it's still getting the looks.

Pay attention to the rear arches where the transporter straps may have rubbed the paint - this is where I had a poor application of paint at the factory and it started bubbling after a year - they did fix it although it took some persuation.

Cheers Marty

Re: And Finally...New GT Blackline has arrived at the garage

I had a very small tear in the driver seat (about 2mm) I have to drive all the way back to Bournmouth to get it fixed which is a little annoying as I live in Cornwall.

Re: And Finally...New GT Blackline has arrived at the garage

I was informed at last weekend that there is supposed to be a GT Q2 Sport coming out in the next couple of weeks. Similiar to the new 147 Sport Q2.
Prices are to be about 1k more than a Blackline.

Re: And Finally...New GT Blackline has arrived at the garage

I'am waiting for my blackline to which i ordered in june for the dealer said I would have on the 1st september which is now not going to happen but now trying to get them to commit to a date which is a bit of a nightmare and doesn't help the salesman not 100% knowing where the car is..

It will probably be very similiar to the Blackline spec with a Q2 diff and a couple of other things thrown in but will be diesel only as they can't fit the Q2 to the JTS. Perhaps there are a few 3.2's floating about that might get the treatment??

In any event the Q2 diff is only about £250 retrofitted. Personally, I prefer the car without the Q2 having had a good chance to test its merits on a Cloverleaf club track day. Very good from a safety point of view, but you lose a fair amount of feel from a drivers point of view.

The 147 Sport spec is very similiar, particularly inside, to the Blackline spec. And it looks and feels great!!!!!
