Not Happy 147 gear linkage change

Hi Everyone,
This weekend I decided to tackle my sticky gears on my 147, thought it would be nice and easy to remove my battery and tray take the gear linkage bracket off and clean!.Oh I was wrong! i've managed to snap a sizable piece of metal from the bracket and was unable to work out how the remove the cables from the linkage!.
Has anyone done this before? (remove the cables I mean, not break things) any advice would be great!.

Thanks Simon

Re: 147 gear linkage change

Simon, had a look at the illustration, shows the bracket, cables, circlip retainers etc. Not as complicated as the Selespeed setup, but really requires those illustrations, from a good source. The drawings on the CD I have are pretty indistinct, and to be honest, If you can, would try to get a Decent CD/manual from an Autobook supplier.Problem is there are no Haynes type manuals available.

Have you done a search? I seem to recall some fairly good illustrations/photos from a 'Dublin' source......
