I'm not sure if it's lowered, I think it might just be stiffer.
The combination of 16s and standard suspension on the normal Lusso definitely gives a more comfortable ride than the 17s and 'sports' suspension, but I'd say it was 'stiff' rather than 'uncomfortably stiff'.
We drove from Edinburgh to Oxford and back in it over a weekend, and didn't suffer at all.

I expect it will be.

Unless they've moved the front indicators, I don't think it will be otherwise they would be too low for some sort of EU directive or other.

I thought about that and i wonder if your mind is defaulting to germanic mode like mine...
"DKV" german beach assault vehicle? or "D" for diesel "KV" wagon?
can't say it suits the Alfa, though.
Going to go with "NGY" as in "thingy"

I did think it sounded a bit German military, but all the others had Ns in them.

NGY would have been my next choice though.
The others sounded like computer bits, car parks or motorcycles.

Re: 1.6Ti or 1.9 Mjet, I just don't know?
nice new motor will you'll thank yourself for getting the diesel come trade-in time as well. the ti wheels look great (but i would say that wouldn't i ) but are indeed murder to clean - loads of little nooks & crannies at the end of every spoke the ride quality will be quite firm i would've thought as the suspension on the ti has been given the "veloce" treatment but the wheels felt no different to the boggo 16's as far as i could tell
let's just hope SA don't throw any spanners in the works...

Re: 1.6Ti or 1.9 Mjet, I just don't know?
Cheers Al. I replied yesterday but the whole site seemd to go down. I think Ian's been having a few servere probs.
My only slight hope is that the Tis spokes are better spaced than the GT's 18"ers so won't be quite as frustrating to get between.
I don't expect any probs with AutoLusso as you now don't pay for the car 'til you pick it up and this particular car is actually in stock so no delay worries. However I fully appreciate that I'm putting my "knob on the block" but i believe in putting my money where my mouth is. So if it goes wrong I'll be big enough to stand up and take any flak which comes my way. having dealt with them before I reckon the bulk of the stuff posted about them is undeserved, so here goes again.

Sounds like you should be OK what with the car being in stock. And no money down in advance is a bit more attractive!! As for the wheels again.... the spacing between the spokes is fine to get your paws in, its just that there are square corner type things (you'll see what I mean when you get the car) where the spokes meet the outer rim which are very awkward to get clean. You only notice the dirt collecting there when you look closely though, so a quick wash of the main bulk of the wheel leaves them looking pretty spotless at a glance

That's what makes the Gt's so darned infuriating to clean, especially with the spiders being so close. I've tried just about every device imaginable and nothing works as well as getting down on your ar*e and patiently working away at it with a toothbrush or your forefinger wrapped in a cloth. The guy at AL hears my moans about it and has promised me a litre or two of some special stuff he swears by.....Watch this space for a report on it's efficacy.

The extra £££ you pay for the diesel will be more than made of for when you part exchange / sell it when lovely Susan gets her next car.

thanks Erik. that is the conclusion I came to in the end. Plus, the diesel packs a helluva lot more punch and that's what I want her to have on that very busy and hazardous road.
I'ts the right decision all round.....
......but those wheels still get on my t*ts

Would you like to swap them for some 16" Selespeeds?
(Badly kerbed, need two new tyres, but very easy to clean!).
