Alfa 147

Hmmm 147 Airbag light.

Yes I know it is a common fault but it would appear my level of problem is not so common! Connections have been cleaned, diagnostic showed a squib fault. 'Clock spring' has been changed and still the light shines bright! My 'Italian Car Specialist' is now stumped and it is starting to cost me a lot of money. Any suggestions gratefully received.

Re: 147 Airbag light.

The control unit can cause the problem as well. Did the alfa specialist try to replace it with an identical unit from another 147 to see if that helped?

Re: 147 Airbag light.

A "squib" is the explosive device which sets of the airbag or seatbelt tensioner.
If it is showing a fault you may need a new one, but without fully testing it is impossible to know.
