Replacing Rear/rear transverse suspension arms.147

Hi Guys,

Has anyone replaced the rear/rear transverse arms on an Alfa 147. Just ordered a pair today and was wondering if it is a simple job I could do myself.

Yes, and no.

The rear ones affect the alignment, so you may as well get done at the time of alignment. You can diy (size 17 and 19 I think).

Also, there are a couple of bushes around here – I suggest doing those at the same time.

Finally….. are you sure you need to replace the forward ones as well? More likely to be the axle stub bush to be honest – this WILL go way before the forward transverse arms (or, so alfashop and my specialist tells me).

As the forward transverse arms are £80, be SURE you actually need them fitting.

Hi wil,

Forward ones dont need replacing and the hub axle bush was replaced with the poly one about 3mths ago. Am I right in saying that the bushes on the arm are part of the arm itself or are they separete

The std bushes are part of the arm and do not come separate.
Replacement poly bushes are available though.
