Hi guys, first post and a quick question. Hoping to have my variator valve replaced on my 147 by going through a third party warranty.....RAC gold cover warranty to be precise. I'm wondering if any body has ever tried this and been covered with the warranty. I'm a bit worried that they will try and wriggle out of covering it.
So any body got any stories along these lines .

welcome to AO dude...not sure on the variator...whether they class it as a wear and tear item..such as belts and brake pads etc...worth a try though

Welcome....you may be lucky with the variator, but, they don't actually "break" so Mike is probably right, wear and tear.

Also, iirc that warranty expects that you have the car serviced every six months for it to be vaild. Although, my local dealer got around it.
