Program new key...

Hi,

I have just picked up another key for my 147 from ebay and wondered how much it costs to get it programed for my car ?

Thanks for your help.

Re: Program new key...

If I am right it is only the factory that can program a key. A brand new one. I am not sure if it possible to do that with "aftermarket" key. I have no idea about costs. In Poland it is ~100 euros (key+programming).

Re: Program new key...

It is done using the Examiner Diag System.
If the key actually fits the locks and works them mechanically it is a reasonably simple procedure to program it into the car.

Re: Program new key...

Thanks for your reply's guy's.

I have a spare key but its damaged on the outside... would it be possible to remove the board from the working key and swap it with the new key ? would that work.

Also its missing the alfa logo... does anyone know where I could get one of these... Just to finish the key off.

Thanks

This is rather worrying if its true you can get a key off eBay and it works the locks.

Hi,
You can put the blade and electronic board from your old damaged key into the ebay's key case. Or you can switch only blades and have your car reprogrammed to accept the new key. For both options, you have to open the old key first. I tried this, but I wasnt able to do it without braking the key.
