Suspension upgrade - Day 1

Managed to do the front Eibach roll-bar in the morning, frustratingly the afternoon was spent fighting the bl00dy suspension fork pinch bolts.

Still done now, and I was expecting them to give me trouble so not too annoyed.

All the best

They rust through like no ones business.
When ever I swap them I layer them up with grease to allow me access in the future.

Mine rounded strait offsilly torx head, they were not actually seized just so tight, cut off with a grinder and put some high tensile normals back in with a load if copper grease

The replacement bolts these days are Allen Key type. I'll be using copper grease on the threads, although it'll be a cold day before I do this again, if ever.

I'm starting to think I'm in my Autumn years of Alfa ownership, I really enjoy tinkering and doing everything I can, but this was hard work today and I ain't getting any younger.

Day 2

Good day today, all 4 corners are done, both rolls bars are on, only thing left to do is fit new drop-links on the back as I mullered them getting them off.

Local place only had 1 on the shelf - bah!

Hopefully my Autolusso silicon lower turbo hose will arrive tomorrow too as I'd like to do both jobs in one hit. Been very lucky with the weather, just one short shower yesterday and two today.

Despite not having the rear roll bar connected I took it for a spin, have to say it feels sensational.

Here's how it sitting on 17"s

Nice. Not taken you too long either. This is one job I'm dying to do, but well aware I should just have the Pro's do it, I just want to do it out of curiosity to see what a bugger it actually is.

It's just a torsion bar. Really nothing complex.
But like all suspension setup it's all a compromise one way or another.

I can only imagine the eibach ones have a higher strength weight to keep the wheels planted!
