weird noise coming out when breaking!

my 147 has a new breaking pads installed by the original owner right before selling it to me, i made around 1000 KM with it, and still a strange sound comes from the right front wheel every time i break!i thought its because breaking pads when they are new sometimes they can cause this noise, but what i don't get that i think its too much specially after 1000 KM of use!

could it be a bad quality of breaking pads, or something else?

Please advise,
Thanks in advance.

Look at your front brake calipers, do they have thin metal spring clips on the outer edge of the caliper?
These are called anti rattle springs and often go missing if not fitted correctly when changing the brake pads.
The previous owner has also probably not cleaned the caliper corrosion off at the top and bottom where the brake pads clip into

If the springs are there, then the calipers need stripping down and inspect the pads it's not difficult.
Clean off the rust around where the pads make contact with the caliper body and pad holders and use plenty of copper grease on the back and sides of the pads Do not get any copper grease on the surface that makes contact with the brake disc/rotor

Take a couple of photo's to make sure you fit the springs / pads back in the correct way

A good tutorial on the 156 (basically the same set up as the 147) here... look under tips section for Gary's guide to how to change brake discs and pads. http://www.alfa156.net/

There is no such thing as a stupid question... Just a stupid answer!!

Just one more question! is it a must to bleed the system when i push back the piston to check and clean the breaking bad & calipers?!

Or i can just push it with no need to bleed the system?!
never done it before that why i need to know!

Thanks!

No need to push back the pistons - it should all come apart and go back together without needing to.

exactly!!! and that's what i did just now and i managed to get everything back, and the rattle sound that was coming out from the right wheel just vanished
BUT......
NOW THE CAR GOES TO THE LEFT SIDE WHEN I BREAK!!!

and i was thinking that maybe i was doing the cleaning and lubricating ONLY the right side, so maybe the pads got some lubrification and the breaking force on the right side is less than the left side, and it will take a couple of days or so just to "dry" totally and get back to normal

Please advise if this could be right, or i damaged something that i shouldn't damage!!!!!!

My guess is you got copper grease on the rotor surface. It will not dry as if grease dried out, there would be little point to it, if the pads are contaminated they will need to be changed
