After six years of Alfa ownership, 5 years with a 156 2.0 TS Veloce and more recently 11 months owning a GT JTDM Lusso, I have finally left the Alfa brand and now own a Honda.
Whilst the 156 was a good car, with no more issues than any other car, the GT has been a nightmare. Decided to part ex before the warranty ran out, as I don't think I could afford the bills.
The GT spent 20 full days at the dealership in 10 months and I would estimate it had around £3000 worth of work. The main problem was the clutch... which is well documented on this forum. (although there were many other issues) Two clutches in 5000 miles was the last straw, not to mention the flywheel, three release bearings, two slave cylinders, a master cylinder, bushes, fork and sleeve.
Whilst I will always love the design and beauty of Alfa's I just can't live with the stress of owning one any longer. I would have been with Alfa for life if things had gone differently.
I wish you all well and hope that I simply bought a dog of a car, that is not representative of the brand as a whole. I will no doubt occasionally log on, as I have been on this site for far too long to give it up straight away..... happy motoring.
