I'm getting wheel wobble on my 2001 Sportwagon at about 60mph and above, the steering also doesn't feel right...
I have swapped the wheels front to rear but no difference. All the tyres are new but seem to have wear on the inside edges, they all run true and there are no bulges, etc. The wheels also run straight.
Also I have noticed when I am pushing it around corners or braking hard there are some awful noises coming from the front (suspension I think). They sound like a metallic knock and the steering also seems to have a lot of feedback (jarring).
I had the car up on a ramp yesterday and the mech said all looked fine and no bushes or ball joints were loose so the mystery continues...
Anyone got any ideas? Im getting the tracking and wheel balancing done tomorrow but it feels like something more serious than that
The last thing I did tonight was stop the car, turn the engine off and just turn the steering wheel from side to side (moderate hard)... There wasn't obvious play but it seemed to make a similar albeit quieter knocking noise, I could feel it through the floor a little also. Is this normal?
Thanks and regards,
Iain
