That water-pump driving technique (a bit on each side from two separate belt runs) is the most bizarre bit of belt engineering I've ever seen  I imagine that if the bearings ever seize, the belt won't be making much of a noise about slipping past that pulley!

The second most bizarre is the TS waterpump being driven off the BACK of the cambelt! Has the back of a cambelt ever been used to drive anything before? What about the machining marks (ridges) on the waterpump 'hub'? I wonder if the cambelt manufacturers are impressed with that.

My father used an old FIAT cambelt, turned inside-out, as a replacement for the leather belt on a lathe he had (from the turn of last century...) It did the job really well, but the pulleys were dead smooth.

Meanwhile the Twinspark auxiliary belt routing is complex too and I actually got it wrong (when fitting the belt from under a car, it's easier than you'd think to get it wrong, I thought you'd have to be a complete dunce :cheese:)... quite easy to go around one pulley the wrong way and then wonder why, even when it's on all the pulleys, it's miles too long...
