156 face vent airflow poor (+ ticking)

Heater/air-con seems to be working fine (controls the temp well - hot air in the moring - cool air later in the day). However I have noticed that the airflow to the face level vents is very poor - perhaps it's just a 156 thing, or maybe I have a stuck flap. How much air do you get from the face level vents.

If I select the different airflow positions I can hear the motors/flags moving and airflow goes to the top/bottom vents at the appropriate times. However when the face level position is selected the flow from the face level vents does increase, but only minimally - as if the other flaps are closing - but the face level one is stuck and not opening properly.

Also at times I have noticed a ticking from the passenger footwell - thinkign this is a motor trying to move a stuck flap?

Having done a search most of the posts seem to be related to hot/cold flap issues - where are the distribution flaps/motors - also in passenger footwell?

Cheers

Steve

Was thinking about that - need to work out where it is - it might help the overall airflow, but I don't think it would explain the difference between the face level vents and the others.

The airflow at face level with the fan on full in my 156 isn't that flash either. I've always thought it was characteristic of the breed. The blower fan and fan speed resistor unit is located above the passenger foot well as is the flap controlling fresh/recirculated air. The servos and flaps for direction appear to be located in the cabin side of the heater/aircon box, behind the heater/aircon controls

I have this with my 147. Always assumed it was normal/rubbish. Replacing the pollen filter made no difference.

Hi, my 156 vents don't appear to have any air coming out of them, you can hear the whole fan system (?) behind the passenger air bag area doing it's thing but I'll be damned if I can get any air to come out any of the vents on full speed or any speed. this is with the internal and external air flow buttons, both scenarios.
