I have a problem with mu Engine Management light on my GT diesel. It keeps coming on randomly and putting the car in to limp mode with limited throttle and no turbo. I have had the EGR valve replaced and had the Turbo sensor changed. It happens cold, hot, fast slow, motorway and country roads. There is no set pattern for this. I pull over restart the car and it drives fine then. The light stays on and goes off eventually. I am getting a bit worried incase i have to replace the ECU. I have had the car remapped however the problem happened before but rarely but since the remapping it is happening nearly 4-5 times a day.
Does anybody have any suggestions? has anybody experienced this? This is so frustrating when taking over cars on B roads.
Get it on diagnostics (examiner/Alfadiag/fiatecuscan) and get the fault code in the ecu read and speak to whoever did the remap and explain how it's more frequent since the map
+1:thumbs: as for frequency after remap is usually down to higher parameters ie boost/fuel line pressure,so if fault is in cars working ,remap just make it more sensitive:thumbs:
Something to take into account is when the EGR valve was chaged was the inlet manifold (where it sits) cleaned,If it was not cleaned then you get the problem re-occurring
A mechanic has also suggested that the inlet manifold should be cleaned after EGR replacement. That will be first port of call tomorow. Thanks lads!!!!!
Obviosly one that has never done that job on this engine before, I spent last weekend opening up the inlet manifold on an Mjet, luckily we found it was worth doing as the #1 inlets were completely blocked.
Lads It doesnt matter anymore at the moment. Smacked a deer ar 70mph yesterday. The think just exploded. The Deer that is. Bonnet, wings, bumper, headlights, grills
It was a bloody Bambi. Let me know if you need fed tho. Thats the most annoying part didnt even get antlers or loads of Venison. By the way it getting repaired so ECU will still have to get fixed.
It was booked in at Dealer the next day before i was attacked by the deer. Will get it on a machine when its back.
Might just sell it now anyway. Im sure the car feels violated!!
