Yet another question for all the experts out there! Just bought a 2001 156 sportwagon which came with a very good service history, I have a wad of recipts for services and work done from Veloces of London (I rang them and they confirmed they knew the car and had indeed done all the work) but i don't know the sevice intervals as for some reason the owners manuel is missing, the cam belt etc. was changed at 59,000 miles in 2007 when would it be due again?
cheers
I think the new intervals are 30,000 miles or 3 years (whichever is sooner) according to my local dealer... So I have just booked my 2001 156 Sportwagon in.
how much do you recon a belt change on a 1.6 156 will cost, and is it worth changing the idlers and waterpump at same time, if so routhly how much for lot.
Am not an expert on the alfa, but it is always good practice to change idler and tensioners, these are included in a cambelt kit.
If waterpump was not changed last time then that needs doing to
cheers, just found out my car history by phoning the garage that did the work. turns out belt was last done sept 08 at 45,000. it snaped on previous owner, had head reskimmed and pistons etc renewed.
