I've had my 156 selespeed for just a week (It's a 2001 sportwagon) and i've heard just about every Alfa joke going already! The car has(is) been driving perfectly, however, having told my doubting son "there, it's gone a whole week without breaking down" the very next short drive the engine warning light came on when i was reverse parking the car and did'nt go off again. I left the car for about 3 hours while we went shopping but when i started the car again the light was still on, the car still drove fine and was'nt overheating or anything, i stopped and checked under the bonnet and the only thing i found was that all the relays and fuses were a little loose so i pushed them all back and did the same with every plug and socket i could see, started the car again and hey presto the light went out and has'nt come on again, could it have been that simple, has anybody else come across this?

yep, common;)

either that or in moving the relays you pushed the negative lead on the battery creating a better connection. also common. so make sure there tight.
