This is my 1st serious post (after introducing myself in the Newbie Forum) so go easy on me :D.

I'll be arranging to sell my little Polo in the next few weeks and as soon as I saw the Alfa 147 I knew that's the car I want next!!

What's everyone's opinions on colours / interiors?

I love black and silver cars - they look the dog's doodahs when polished. I've had both, although my current Polo is black, it doesn't look good covered in Icelandic ash!!! Are certain colours more desirable than others on Alfas?

The interior is the next issue - cloth, velour (I hate that word!!) or leather? It's probably a no-brainer for most of you but a leather interior does look the best IMO. Cloth seats look, quite frankly, naff (apologies to anyone who has cloth seats by the way ;)). I've seen a lovely 5 door Lusso with leather seats and "Alfa Romeo" stitched into the headrests which I think looks so much better and this brings me onto my final point.......mileage. That particular model has done 98k which worries me a little. It's 2002 registered on a "51" plate.
It's probably a little more than average mileage but what are Alfas like with high mileage? Is it all down to how well they're looked after?

Apologies for all the questions but this will be my 1st "special" car I've bought and I want to get it right - after all, I have a feeling I'll become an Alfa convert .

I would say that Red is more desirable to most and as such could demand a higher sale price. Leather is obviously desirable as well. I think you may have difficulty finding a good car with the exact combo you prefer so from this point of view I would take leniency on this side and be fairly strict with service history and how it's looked after.

I am guessing from looking around you prob know that cam belts are a must every 3 years and should be your highest concern.

If you haven't already check out this site:
Alfa Romeo 147 Buyer's Guide

I'm sure there are other people on hear that would be better suited to give you advice!

Personally my favourite feature is the engine.
