in the next couple of months i'm thinking of getting a stainless exhaust system, after having a quick look round, there appears to be dozens of different choices but i would just like some people's opinions on which ones are best, now i'm not after a obnoxious chavvy, saxo, waste paper basket exhaust, i want one that looks smart, and at low speeds and low revs is as quiet as the standard system but then has a nice meaty sound once you put your foot down and hit those higher revs, So any recommendations would be appreciated, oh i'm looking around about the £300 mark for the system, less if possible but i know it's like anything else as in you get what you pay for.
i've heard of them, i'll have a look, my problem is really i'd like to hear it before i choose one make sure i get the right sound i'm after, i suppose i could always have a trawl through youtube see if anyone else has used them
I have a S/S cybox on my 1.8TS, not too loud with a nice burble. If you are local (I'm in Long Eaton) you are welcome to pop around and have a listen if it helps?
PM me
hmmm cybox, i've heard that name mentioned a few times too, what did that cost if you don't mind me asking and do you have the full system or just the back box
 i'd already seen that the other day was thinking about it, you just beat me to posting the link by a few minutes, is that the same system you have then, there's a video on youtube of a 2.0l 156 with this or a similar system on is this what your's sounds like as well YouTube - Alfa Romeo 156 2.0 TwinSpark w/ Cybox Exhaust
yeah i suppose it would be, have you ever been to Alfa Technico at Huthwait, it's an Alfa specialist garage, and they have a 156 courtesy car they use there, that has a custom exhaust on, and at idle and low revs it sounds pretty much standard but as soon as you floor it, it's got a real rumble to it, but i asked the guy who owns it and apparantl it cost just over £300 just for the back box alone
exhaustsuk.com is great for custom exhausts systems. I left mine with them for the morning and like you didnt want anything too chavvy, when i returned it was done, sounds lovely, ticks over with a lovely rumbling purr but not too loud with a nice letterbox shape tip on the back. i had the front to back done for £295.
cheers for that, Sheffield's not too far away either, only about an hour for me
