Cat problem on 156!

No not the furry type but diagnostics has shown up that my rear Cat needs replacing.

Can anyone suggest a supplier for one...............or should I just remove it completely and have a pipe put in it's place?

All suggestions would be gratefullly received.

I might be wrong here but I am going to have a go...

How does the diagnostics know that the CAT has failed? Is it because the post CAT lambda probe says so?

In that case I woul be tempted to blame the lambda sensor.

Usually when the CAT fails there are other signs, such as rattling and power loss from the monolyth inside breaking up.
