When manoeuvering at slow speed and touching the brakes I get a "crack" that seems to come from the front off-side. It doesn't do it when accelerating, just braking. It does it when braking in 1st, then selecting reverse and braking, on both occasions I get this crack.
I've checked all the obvious brake parts, calipers etc and all seem tight. Any suggestions?
Cheers Smaky, I'll check the bolt torques. Wouldn't I get a similar noise when taking up the drive? It's only when touching the brakes. I'll take a look tomorrow!
I would epect that too, but I've seen it on 3.2s where the bolts are loose and you only get judder under braking, but the caliper mount bolts and the sliders are another place to look.
Had a good look today, checked torques, found nothing - still making the same noise. Is it possibly slight play in calipers allowing the pads to re-locate?
