Can anyone help?
I suspect I have a problem with the standard fit radio/CD unit in my 147 JTD. For some time now I've noticed that, on remotely unlocking the doors, the radio turns itself on.
However, recently it seems to want to switch itself onto the CD player, even though there's no disc in there, I just see the "Reading" message on the display followed by "NO CD"; well there won't be - I haven't put one in!!
Further to that over the last couple of weeks, I've come out in the morning to find my battery flat. Now I know for a fact that I've turned the radio off manually before turning off the ignition, but it would appear that it is somehow turning itself on again through the night, flattening the battery. This was confirmed last week when my neighbour collared me & said he could hear my car radio when he went out to work about 4 that morning - battery was dead by the time I got there at 7!
Now, I've removed the head unit from the car & since that the battery's been fine, so that tells me it is the radio. Is this a common problem, can you reset the radio, or is it a throw it in the bin & get a new 'un job?
Cheers
