I had a split boot and it cost me 1 hour labour + £16 for the boot to repair. There would be a problem if the joint ran dry, but unless this has happened it should be just a replacement job. Is there any sign of wear on the shaft?
Apparently the CV joint has play in it, I do have a warranty on the car but am having a liitle difficulty in getting the dealer to reply to me as they only just replaced the O/S Nivomat on Friday.
Out of interest whereabouts did you get the boot replaced at? and was it the inner boot as I would think the hub etc needs to come off to replace the inner boot.
Had the work done at Sunnyside Garage in Chadwell Heath, it feels like I sponsor them personally. Not sure which boot but suspect it was the nearside inner as that's where the oil stain is on the garage floor.
