Hi everyone

I am a complete novice with engines so I was just wondering if you think it is worth me trying to replace the selespeed potentiometers on our 147. If you think it is an easy job could you let me know where to find them on the car.

Mnay thanks
Phil

Hi Iainfm

Thanks for replying.

The test was done by a local Alfa specialist and all they have put is that it needs new selespeed potentiometers and clutch calibration.

The car is basically changing gear when it wants sometimes choosing reverse when decelerating and often gives selespeed error especially in 5th.

Where would I get them from?

Thanks
Phil

That's really kind of you to mention, since (if I remember rightly?) you actually have these for sale on eBay at the moment?

I pried apart a couple of Selespeed sensors and cleaned/tweaked them, effecting a solution. The wiper arm on the potentiometer has strange little hooks that seem to be bent the wrong way - the sharp edge runs on the plastic track - seems all wrong to me :)
