Immobilizer Failure and Doors Locking after Unlocking

Some odd things have been happening with the GT over the last few weeks.

A couple of times I've gone to start the car and the up pops Immobilizer Failure on the dash. Turn the ignition off and on again and the car starts fine. I've waited until the self check and the glow plug light have gone off.

What has happened more often (but still intermittently) is I go to unlock the car using the remote, the doors unlock then immediately lock again.

Could this be the battery in the key fob starting to die ?

Anyway it's going in this week for it's 36K service, so the faults have been reported to the garage.

I would be interested to know the results of thsi as mine locked after unlocking last week a couple of times. I changed the battery in the key remote but not sure if it cured it. One thing I did notice is that the passenger window was slightly down and I wonder if the alarm couldnt work due to that?

Normally if the alarm cannot be set you get a second beep after the doors lock.

In this case though I'm trying to unlock the car and the doors re-lock. So I have to unlock them again.

Must admit it's hasn't happened for a few days and I haven't tried the spare key.
