Washing a 156 with a spoiler

Recently had a boot spoiler fitted to my 156. It's the big whale-tail fella. I've got a years worth of free car washes, but been told by the guy who fitted it; it can't go through a car wash. I've been a bit of a cheapskate and not uprated the struts. Can I put it through a car wash or am i risking the fittings of the spoiler?

N.B. I know I shouldn't use a car wash because of the damage to the paintwork, but I'm a lazy git!

i wouldn't put my Alfa anywhere near a mechnical automated car wash, they put warnings on them for a reason, i had a wing mirror totally snapped off my focus once when one of the sensors failed and the drying fans just ripped it clean off, the reply i got from the staff (as expected) sorry use at your own risk

I wouldn't use a carwash either. They are for company car drivers and lazy gits.

They miss bits, are expensive and leave the car covered in small scratches.

I do use the jetwash on occasion though, mainly to get mud and salt off of the underside.

you can go through the car wash i you want, dont expect the spoiler to still be attatched afterwards though:lol:

nothing more satisfying than standing back and looking at your own handywork:D
