My friend has a 147 and it was broken into the other night stole the usual stuff but also the box with his key to locking wheel nuts that was in his glovebox. Needs a tyre changing soon and is obviously worried about punctures and not being able to get the wheel off.
Does any kind soul have a spare or unneeded locking wheel nut key they could spare?
Ironic, I received a replacement key today for a missing one and despite me giving them the correct key code number they have sent the wrong key:rant:
I'm afraid your mate is going to have real trouble if they are genuine Alfa locking bolts and they have taken the box. To order a new one you need the 3 digit code usually found on a card inside the box and there are hundreds of different keys not 10! If he doesn't have the code any more than he will have to get them removed by someone or hope one of the generic tools works and buy a new set. (and even if he does have the code he has to rely on his dealer sending the right key)
Rather than getting a replacement key for the existing locking nuts, I'd get new nuts. The bar stewards know the car the key came out of, you don't want them seeing the car again and swiping the wheels.
Most tyre places will take the locking nuts off, but winge like hell about it.
