Im thinking of changing my 156 1.8TS for a 156 2.0TS SW Selespeed in Nuvola Blue. I was wondering how much i could get for my current 156?
Its a R reg with 130k ish on the clock.
6 months MOT and 2years or plenty of miles before the next cam belt.
Alfa red bodywork which is not perfect. Polishes up ok but is showing its 13years old.
Probably £750 or so.. Not much due to the mileage and age. Probably worth keeping for that sort of money, as a reliable backup car. If its made it 13 years and 130k it must be a good one.
I just bought a 2000/W saloon with full leather and Veloce kit, 114k for £870
I think Dan was bang on with around £750 providing it is in tidy condition.
The trouble is with the 156 1.8 and 2.0 is they are too thirsty as a commuter and not fast enough for a weekend car, so demand is limited to those who really want them.
i don't agree i think my 1.8 is an excellent compromise between economy and performance, the difference between this and the Focus ST170 i had is barely noticeable, and i regularly average over 30mpg in town and up to 40+ on a motorway run
Thanks for the opinions guys. symon, i do find the 1.8 much better on economy than my 2.0 TS GTV but i see what you mean in terms of a small engine or a diesel would be more economical.
Im just so surprised to be honest that an Alfa, a brand that certain people in pubs would say are unreliable and rusty and rubbish has done big mileage and not totally pampered is still going strong (touch wood) and is really nice to drive. Im impressed with the 156 as a model, which is why im trying a slightly newer more tidy one.
I think when/if i need too i will sell it for £700
I just bought a 1999 T Plate 156 2.5 V6 with 89k on the clock in spotless condition with all old MOTs and bills. Badged leather seats also spotless for £550 if that helps you
