Both the ECU and the speedo work it out independantly (and slightly differently) ... basically both take the integral of the speed, but because one is hardware and the other is software there will be rounding errors ... as long as they're withing 10% you should be happy
If reading the ECU value with FiatEcuScan, better ask the question in the forum there. It looks like there are certain corrections which need to be applied to the ECU values. Not sure how that would work out on mine, as both Odometer values in FES show zero.
yes reading the ECU value with FiatEcuScan.....was thinking is it accurate.....as surely the both cant be that far out with each other and what is the true mileage....
+1
Odometer uses the same pulse reader as the speedo so the figure will always be higher than reality. See your GPS speed on a sat nav compared to the speedo 85mph on the speedo 80ish on the sat nav
A speedo and odemeter will always be more inacurate by design no car manufacturer makes the speedo acurate due to the danger of it under reading rather than over reading and the law suits that would follow from drivers who had been done for speeding
If that makes any sence at all lol i know what i mean
If you pull out the kph pod and put in a mph pod (uk) what needs to be replaced/adjusted to have the milage appear correctly? Is the ecu signalling the speedometer? I made the change and the milages is builing fast!
yes, but where is the sensor and are there two types of sensors? One for UK (mph) and EU (kph)?
