Evening all.
I have been having a few problems with my 147 such as backfiring exhaust and lack of power i was told it could be the timing. My plan was to have the cambelt changed and timing dine and see if that helped. Upon some googling i noticed some people say unplug the maf and see if that helps, if so it could be maf failure.
I just unplugged my maf sensor and took the car for a drive and it pulled really well, felt noticably quicker and pulled much better through the revs.
After half a mile i got a selespeed failure notice but no light on the dash. The car still drove fine and didnt make a difference, Then when stopping to reverse into my parking spot the car stalled and wouldnt start back up. I pushed it back into the space and plugged the maf back in and sure enough the car fired up but still displayed selespeed failure and mcsf. Turned the car on and off a few times and cleared both warnings but the car is slow again
Does this mean i need a replacement maf sensor? eurocarparts have them for just over £100 for a genuine bosch one, is this the going rate?
