EBD Failure, Battery

Hi, Driving to work this morning firstly my battery light came, after I beeped someone for double laning, the dash board totally failled whilst driving - the radio, lights everything and eventually a light saying EBD system failure came on. I managed to keep driving my car but when I parked it in work, switched off the engine & tried it again nothing happened. I left it for a while & now it starts but I'm nervous of driving it.

I recently got the car serviced (not with a dealer) & nothing was picked up however as my horn didn't work they had to take something out to do with the electrics and refit it. I don't know what the thing was called. I also had to recently get it jump started after leaving it undriven for a week.

I'm wondering what is wrong... Has it anything to do with the jump start or the part in the steering wheel that was fitted or what? I'm not quite sure what I can do? This is my first post to a forum.

It's a 2001 Alfa 147, 73,000 miles on the clock?? The battery isn't that old - maybe 18 months & before that I had one for 12 months but I've always had battery trouble since I bought it 2nd hand. If I leave the car for more than 4 days it will need to be jump started. The alfa garage couldn't find a fault as to why so I just live with that!! Please help me :-( I'm wondering how much it would cost to get fixed & if It's safe to drive to a garage or if I need to tow it!!

weak batteries are usually culprit but i would check your charging system with volt meter first

as for horn issue (wiring fault)maybe but might be coincidence

Bosch Alternator

Hi

I'm looking for a Bosch Alternator for my Alfa 147. It's an 01. 1.6L. I'm looking for one that comes with a guarantee. I have someone to fit it for me.

Does anyone know a site that sells them & ships to Ireland that gives guarantees??

Thanks
