My car is returning poor fuel ecconomy, is there any point in having it tuned?

Its been serviced, its had its timing set, its passed its MOT without any emission fauls

Can you expand on 'had its timing set'?

expand, yes the timing belt was changed earlier in the year, before this i was getting late 20s out of the car around town, about 36 on a mway run. After that I was getting 21 mpg round town and 26 on a long run. Took it to an Alfa specialist who reset the timing on the cam belt. Now getting 23ish around town and 30ish on a run

it was a garage recomended by a friend, it was before i knew their is an Alfa specialist in Warrington

I wouldn't be surprised to see tippex marks
