What is this electrical box?

Up under the rear parcel shelf of my 2004 156 saloon is this weird box, its not bolted in, although i can see where it used to be mounted, any idea what it is and why it might have been unbolted and left floating free?

It's the unit for the remote central locking. Not sure if it's the complete alarm ecu, or just the wireless part of it...
