Key Fob weirdness

Hello - having bought my car with 2 keys - I noted that one seemingly didn't work using the remote buttons. (It starts the car just fine and operates the locks manually)
Battery I thought - quick trip to Halfrauds and replaced the 2032 penny battery. Now it works ... to unlock the boot but doesn't operate the central locking. Is there a trick to getting that working again or do I suspect a faulty lock/unlock button?

The switch has probably fallen off the circuit board. Easily re-attached by soldering - to get the key open, pry out the Alfa Romeo badge to expose one small screw. See http://www.alfa156.net/tech/buttonflipkey.pdf

That is an AWESOME write up. I am pretty handy - so will pop her open and check these clips and buttons. I have a working key worst case! - will try and remember to let you know when I am done. going to buy a sensible soldering iron first!

a very dirty car

If all the buttons don't work it is unlikely to be a switch fallen off the board.
Give me a shout if you need me to repair it for you, it's what i do

Thanks Chris - as I said in my post just the lock/unlock doesn't work boot button works fine so I will investigate the button falling off possibility first. Failing that - you're the man!
