Brake Pads and Discs

Are these easy to replace by the DIY spanner weilder (if done on various other cars before)?
Any major gotchas?

If you are doing the rear, buy a caliper rewind tool (the piston needs to be pushed and turned at the same time).
It makes the job so simple and painless that there is no point trying it without.

I've only used mine once too and even if I never use it again it was still worth buying.

It will probably be fine.
The main difference is usually just the locations of the locating pins.
They are a normal thread on both sides.

Some other makes use opposite threads on each side, Fiat/Alfa don't.

Are the wheel bearings part of the rear hub or are they changeable? I appear to have a rumble also.. wheel bearing on the way out sort of sound..

Part of hub I think. You'll probably need a multi-tonne press to replace them otherwise.

As for the discs, take the rear calipers off (two bolts) and there's enough room to get the disc off without removing the caliper mounting brackets.

If you're interested, there's a how-to with pics on my website ... link below.
