Well, thanks guys. i will have to check it all again... after all... im in an island with something like 8 alfa romeos...
The MAF was changed several times already to resolve this problem, no results. also the air filter.
About the cambelt, i think its the only thing that i havent checked... tomorrow morning i will go to check it and will let you know....
it turns off a lot, if i brake and turning at the same time... like slowing down to zero while im turning, or slight downhill...

Again, thanks all for caring

Its prob the throttle sencor or the rev's on the car need adjusting. Does the problem appear also when you got the A/C on ?

yep. AC on or off... its the same. i have to say, that when im on a freeway, there's no problem and the car preforms perfectly.
Throttle sensor was replaced a week ago with 2 uses ones that worked good on the other cars ( i was there to see it on other cars ), but seems its not the problem. or maybe it has to be a new one?

Let me see if I understand...

This happens only on low revs? or car stopped position?

Have you tried the selespeed thread? I took a quick glance at it in the past (I'm not on selespeed) and I think I recall something similar.

it happens also when im on Neutral... if i take it up to 3-5000rpm and leave the gas, the revs go down to zero and the engine shuts down...

To me this sounds like clutch drag, is there a rumbling sound from the gearbox area when you start the car?

Is the car selecting all gears on the first attempt?

If you have Alfadiag have you checked the clutch rod length is between 28 and 28.5mm?

If you just turn the key to MAR (don't start the engine though) will it select all gears from R to 5th?

Are the brake lights working when you press the pedal?

Have you checked the inlet hoses for cracks, splits, loose joints or other leaks?

When here the Spark plugs last replaced?

What grade fuel are you using?

Have you tried to remove the aux belt and drive the car (not too far though)? The steering will be heavy but it's going to rule out the other cuse I've had that causes this to happen, which is the steering pump.

i agree with smaky, It could be somthing as stupid as a split hose

You have to get ur hands dirty, even if ur not 100% sure what ur looking for.

Surely you would tell if its the clutch?

SPLIT HOSE!

Typical symptoms of split/loose hose somewhere between the MAF and the throttle body.

Ok, about the cluch, i installed a brand new one a month ago, the gears works perfect, all the things you mentioned about the grears, it all works perfectly fine.

split/loose hose - will check on monday !

Grade of gasoline - they call it premium here, but its lower than the usual in europe. i add octane booster.

Plugs - all new.

Thanks for the help, i will let you know what i find. thanks !!!!

I had this problem on my 145. I was told it was the Idle control stepper motor however to resolve the issue i:

Replaced the Maf with an origional Bosh (one on the car was a pattern).
Cleaned and polished the throttle body.
Replaced the lambda
Injector cleaner through fuel tank.

This fixed the issue and made the car a lot faster! (tip, when cleaning the throttlebody, ensure you remove the idle stepper motor and and fly by wire unit without moving anything. This will allow you to open the butterfly by hand without damaging the motor).
