Lick What are the straps for. . .

in the boot of my sportwagon. Theres like a rope teather thing on the right and a red strap on the left. Oh and the two hooks which are hidden in the roof on either side which i only noticed today???? Just wondered!

the cord on the right is for the fuel flap, incase the handle in the cabin fails to open it

i think the strap on the left is for the fire extinguisher in mainland europe

Does the parcel shelf hook on the upper hooks to form a screen? Just a guess as my cover was binned by the previous owners. Did the SW come with any kinda "lifestyle" picnic bag or summit tied in with the straps? Seen something similar with my Audi est.

thought that was what the red strap was for. No tried the parcel shelf in the upper hooks. Its too narrow to fit the shelf in

The "parcel-shelf" or load cover incorporates a large-mesh "dog-guard" that unravels and clips into the "hooks" on the roof....

One of them is for a 2 litre can of selenia as it will show this in the owners book as I remember this being a very early but short lived campaign to put a can of oil in the boot for the customer.....
