New headunit choice

I am going to be buying a new headunit for the 156 tomorrow but I can't decide on which to get

I have narrowed the choice down to the following three :

Pioneer DEH- P6500R
Alpine CDM 9807RB
Kenwood KDC 7024

They are all about the same price on line ( around £200 )so pricing is not that big an issue.

I have bought a set of Infinity Reference 6500 componants for the front door and some 6502 2 ways for the rear doors. The fit on them is great..they prety much just slot into the standard holes

Also can't decide on a good 10" sub either..considering a Rockford Fosgate or a JL Audio. I want to get a nice system that sounds good and is more about quality and clarity than in silly sounding boom boom systems. I have a nice 4 channel Phoenix Gold QX4150 amp to go with this lot so any recomendations are welcome.

I would go with the alpine.

I have a Alpine 7815RB i think in cost me £375. Well worth the money. WMA/MP3 and loads of other bits.

There hard to setup but there well worth the money.

If you don't like the Alpine then i would go for the Pioneer.

I don't think kenwood have a very good sound quity compared to the others.

I've presently got a Kenwood KDC-MP8017 MP3 player fitted in my car.

Had it for over a year and it works great. Never skips even on very bumpy ground.

But used to have Alpine system in my old car - very good sound and quality.

CAD have the pioneer DEH77MP for 230 which is a billy bargain if you can stretch that far, it's as good as the alpine a few models up from the one you are looking at, rather cool looking too.

I've had rockford, JL and Boston subs... I'd go either Boston or JL. My competitor 1000 blew the pants off my 10w0 but was more expensive, the better spec JL 10W2 etc are as good if not better than the Bostons....

incidentally it's sat in the garage in Bolton at the moment as I havent put anything bar an M-Station into the GTA as yet.

Do you have an alpine changer fitted as standard, if so go for an Alpine but check if it is an M or A series this will affect your choice.
Buy the best you can afford, try www.cel-direct.co.uk.

I will be ordering a head unit in about 2 weeks from the UK (i have an uncle coming to malta soon); i am interested in the P-77MP but I do not know if I should go for the sony cdx-m850mp for about £20 more .. what do u think?

i read in a mag that the sony does not have the best SQ for that category (something to do with tuner sensitivy or something)
which would you choose? I really love the sony's display but I dont wish to sacrifice SQ for this.

btw @ Jomor: parts have been shipped yesterday
but the IDIOTS didnt send the VPRO speakers (me bro's) cause they were out of stock. didnt even bother to ask me first! so now i ordered the AS6.1 instead (which you had suggested in the first place.. stupid stupid me ) and will probably have to wait another week for them to ship them!
oh well.. at least some progress has been made right? wink

!?

I ended up getting the Pioneer...although it was a close one !

I was all ready to spend £240 online on the Alpine CDA9812RR, which is a fantastic head unit, but then a friend who works at a local in car entertainment installer called me to say he could do me a REALLY good deal on the Pioneer...brand new with full warranty and fitting for quite a bit cheaper than anywhere online !

Plus I have just been and bought a JL Audio 10w3 sub plus enclosure so I think I have everything

...just need to get it all fitted now..lol
