I see the point though. When I first got the Alfa the biggest shock was that first gear was usable. In the Scoob first gear was 4000rpm, drop clutch and then grab second as quick as you could. The first ppp Prodrived Impreza's, like the Series McRae, had the big TD04 turbo and were tested 0-60mph by Autocar at 4.9 seconds. Going to 8.6 seconds in the Alfa felt so slow.

Due to road works I'm going a different route to work and the guy in the 206 (See my post above) was in front of me at the same lights this morning. I pulled behind him as once is enough. LOL. Not seen the back before. wink It was a 206GTI Private number plate, WRC spoiler, Lexus style lights and a twin exit (Either side) exhaust.
He spent all that money and got burn't. I bet he felt well ****ed.

If he had followed me down to the lights the other day in a normal manner and only pulled away quickly from the lights I would have let him go, he just felt he needed to prove something, just showed him he couldn't.

Ok guys. Saturday i made a 700 km trip in Hungary and no one passed me http://www.click-smilies.de/sammlung...smiley-029.gif. I was bad, but my average fuel consumption was "bad" as well: 11,5 l/100km
... and i also raced a BMW 323i.
He was doing 140km/h on the fast line and I arrived in his back. I flashed him for about 2 minutes but he didn't make way. Finally he reacted at my horn, but when he pulled off, he started accelerating Then i said, know or never, i changed in 4-th and i put my foot on the pedal. I passed him at 205 km/h. What a joy for me He was in my back for about 20 km then i lost him.

The only bad thing was that a killed hundreds of flies, mosquitoes, bugs and yesterday i dad to wash and polish my bella for about 5 hours.

All the best

Aeneas,

I know this car very well, believe me if you kept up with it then John wasn't trying too hard.

From 40mph to 140mph it is faster than a Scoob. He also has uprated suspension so isn't slow through the bends either.
He just looses out to the Scoobs at very low speeds due to it being FWD and not 4X4

I could also keep up with a BMW 330d (chipped: 220hp/500nm) with M suspension quite easily, I was much quicker in the bends (faster in and out). I couldn't keep up on the straights of course... wink

I've been dreaming about a seriously modified Raleigh Grifter. There's this guy with a 911 near me and I reckon if I put some more stickers on and pump up the tyres to 65psi, I could have him on sweeping righthanders...unless it's raining off course when I'd fall off and hurt MY AR5E!

wink

03 156 2.4jtd

I have to comment on my old motor.
I had a supercharged saxo vts. 194bhp proven at the wheels. 0-60 5.2 proven by datalogger and 0-100 1n 13.7 proven by datalogger and the nice people at gmc motorsport. i traded it in for my gtv because it was a tin box, if some ****** in an x5 etc had of hit me i would have been mush. so alfa promptly sold it to their head tech bod at the dealers. he raced a 156gtv driven by one of the sales lads and wiped the floor with it. medium power + low weight = awesome performance. just ask the local p1 drivers in wilmslow as i used to stick to their tails.
unless it was raining.
i think the impreza would waste most in the wet nothinggives you more confidence than a scoob in the wet.

03' 601 black 2.4jtd 156 with high wing, 17" GTA straight alloys, colour coded Zender fuel cap, omp racing drilled and grooved discs with matching racing pads and a light dusting of bright green cloverleafs!
