Cheers

I think every 145/146 owner has had this zillions of times. It is only a worry if you are intending on having a major crash. If the light is on, the bags won't work, so drive carefully!

It's a problem that more Alfa's have.
You can reset the computer bij disconnect the battery for 10 minutes. Sometimes this works.

Succes!

Check previous threads for this one as it appears to be a common problem.
I checked for my mate who has a 156 JTD and I believe its something to do with a cable under the passenger seat coming partly unpluged, anyway you have to get the computer reset once the conection is remade.
Unfortunaly my mate had already been to the dealer (his was under warranty)to get this done and as no parts were involved they charged him 70GBP. My local Alfa speacialist would have charged him 10GBP.
The thing the bugs me is Alfa are aware of the problem and wanted to charge him to "hard wire" (their words not mine) the airbag, if they know its a problem (due to use off the pasenger seat) they should fix it for free.

Tanx for your replies,

My car is still under warranty and quite frankly i'm expecting them to fix it at no charge, however i'll check it out.
I was going to participate in a sprint tommorow (at Hal-Far for fellow Maltesers), maybe should think twice about it now.

Cheers

we had it on our car in the first week and so did Etienne on his 1st 147.
just go there and they'll fix it in a couple of minutes, hopefully!

btw its pretty safe to take 'er for a sprint.. just be careful not to crash it wink wink

we missed you last time!

how much is the spoiler gonna cost you btw?
i must congratulate you then, its a very pretty little thing, small but really effective
by far the nicest boot spoiler IMO.

did you get the AD intake btw?
did you see the job Stephen Briffa did on his 147?

well, my plans to go to London fell through so i spent the money I had saved for the intake on the spoiler instead.... not cheap at Lm 110 (spoiler costs Lm60, fitting+spray Lm50) But anyway i didnt stay thinking about it otherwise I probably wouldnt have got it!!
Stephen Briffa seems to have done a really nice job on his 147, prob next thing i'll do, but not for now.. too broke!!

p.s IMO the spoiler will look fab on your 147 with that kit and all!!

but i agree. i think they should have really installed it themselves together with the kit, but i think they only look at the expenses when it comes to trade fairs etc
(cause UCIM had installed the kit and alloys and stuff to our car for it to be the 'show car' at the motor fair.)
if we were to spend money on that kinda stuff right now it would be for the front spoiler though wink

btw.. did you get it installed at the dealer? if so, why? i mean i would have tried searching for a cheaper (and probably better) sprayer. and maybe even installed it myself.
we once took it to their garage to repair some damage (Actually twice) and IMO they are not that good. the colour never matched correctly

but it would probably be easier on your car since its not a metallic! wink

good luck wink

PS: stephen's job was quite expensive. cone filter about 25, and the pipe about 50!! its full stainless steel, machined specially for his purpose and polished. but it looks really great, and sounds nice too

hey, the airbag light is nothing...

because the romanian road are all bumpy (it's a new version of the african land ) my airbag light was on almoust all the time; the bad thing is that something happens that airbag will not explode...

the thing is that generraly is happening something to the wires of the airbag; my bella had problems with the sensor located under the copilot seat...
