Flickering Dash Instrument Panel Light
Hi Guys,
Last night when I was driving home from a friends party I noticed for the first time when I stoped at the traffic lights that my Instrument Panel lights have a slight flicker on and off every 4-5 seconds or so is this Normal ? for a 147??

This happens if at the starting procedure of the engine the checks are not completed. It can happen if there is a problem, but most of the times letting go the key too soon when starting is the cause. Restarting the engine fixes the problem.
If it happens more often indicates that for some reason the checks can't be completed and you have to take your bella to the dealership.

Sorry, I understood that your odometer was flashing. But if the background light have a slight flickering it is probably not normal.
Did it happen just once or all the time. I can imagine that it happens when the engine is at idle speed and at the same time the selespeed pump is building up pressure (again).
Building up this pressure and changing gears is hard on the electronic system of your bella. When I switch gear I have noticed that the head lights are less sharp for a second as well.

So far have noticed this problem when the engine is idle & I think Im not to sure it may be happening when I am driving too.
Will have to check on that one. Should I be worried ?

If it happens when driving I should be worried. If it only happens at idle speed I would check some things out first. When it happens, is the selespeed pump active, is the airco cooling, is the radio playing. Is eliminating one power source (other then the engine or your lights) enough to stop the flickering etc.

Do ALL lights flikker (e.g. also the courtesy lights)?
If so, it could be a faulty voltage controller of your car. Isn't really expensive though (in normal cars that is )

If so, bad earthing/mass could be the prob. If not, it still could be this, but I would check bad connections to tacho dials first ...
