Piper Cross Induction Kit

Hello People!!

Its been a while since I've posted anything but I've someting to write about now.Friday two weeks ago I put a piper cross induction kit on my bella and on the Saturday put the car up on the rolling road with a web site organised rollin road day "Maxed-ie.net". Anyway got 126Bhp out of her and a lot of admiring looks!!!! Which was nice.
The techs in charge of the road reckon I might have got a bit more if I had my standard 15"s on and not the 18"s, just wondering is that true and what do you think it could have been ? Also when I was fitting the kit I took some pics so you can all see the results, The pics are still in the camera so you'll have to wait a bit longer for them and I will also get some recordings up aswell, the sound from it is great a lovely throaty roar when she's pushed above 4000rpm
well worth the money which was more than I expected, And one more thing the bloody size and weight of the oe airbox what were they thinking when they stuck that beast into the car .

Hey Antares, good to hear you made it out to a DYNO day. I want to do the same. I was once considering a pipercross kit. Looking forward to checking out your pix!

Well....I believe Alfa would spend a lot of time on engineering the cold air box. I don't believe that Piper could spend the smallest fraction of time doing the same job and for all the cars they reckon they cover.
So it really on comes down to making it do something different. ie. less sound proofing (which may appeal to some)
Don't go thinking you'll end up with more power. Why would Alfa want their stock motors to produce less than they are capable of?

About the bhp.. did you measure it without the induction kit too?? You cant jump into conclusions without measuring it before the kit, i read two magazine tests on 1.6lt 147s and they did a dyno measurement on both cars (no mods) and one was 124.5bhp and the other 125bhp (yes baby yes ) This explains why the 1.6lt feels so good at high revs, i hope all 147s are like this wink Imo a safe way is to make a "before" and "after" dyno. How faster or nervous does it feel now? Vrooooooooom
Cheers

I had heard of people talking about their cars feeling quicker on pick up when you hit the fun pedal, and I didn't believe it but since fitting the kit the car does feel more eager to go. I didn't get a chance to get the car on the rollers before the kit was fitted
