Alfa 147 Jtd Air Filter Please Help

Hi everyone, as I going to service my 147 myself this weekend, can anyone please help and tell me how I can change the air filter element without removing the battery and going throught the official way as is explained in the workshop manual - any help would be most appreciated as this part of the service I am not looking too forward to at all.

Cheers!

It is accessible from below, but with difficulty. Save yourself a lot of bother and fit a replacement panel filter from K&N that fits into the standard airbox but only needs cleaning every 40k. Also improves the breathing slightly

Why don't you want to remove the battery & do it the 'official' way?

The official way takes loads of time, also this is the first time I will be servicing the Alfa ever! I did change the oil before taking it to Germany for our summer holiday as there was still 6500 miles remaining before its' service, but if anyone knows a shortcut which could save me time I would be most grateful! Have you changed it the official way, if so is it quiet straight forward to do?

Cheers all!
