156 rear spoiler

I am contemplating having the rear spoiler removed from my 156 and having the bootlid holes filled and resprayed.

In trying to weigh up the cost of doing this, I am interested in knowing what the rear spoiler is worth to anyone who may want it.

It is an official Alfa Romeo accessory item (part no: 5900925.) It is slightly raised and has three supporting 'pillars', two either end and a small one in the middle. The edges of the spoiler curve down to meet the rear wings and it has a rear brake light built into it.

I'm not really into spoilers, so want to have it removed, but of the 3 rear spoilers that are available for the 156 (this one, the 'boot-line' spoiler and the high wing) I think this one is the nicest.

They are £175 new (+painting.) This one is painted already (it's the standard bright red.)

If anyone is interested in this fine automotive styling item, please email me (nareman@virk.co.uk)

If I get a decent amount for it, I'll have it removed and have the bootlid filled/sprayed. If I don't get a good offer, I'll keep it.

Cheers
Nareman.

how come its a red spoiler, if, according to your avatar details, you're driving a silver 156?

PS: i really like that spoiler. subtle, small, and sexy wink

a) "You mean Grigio Chiaro isn't red?"

b) "What's wrong with a red spoiler on a silver car?"

I'm joking of-course.

I do indeed have a sliver Veloce. I've also bought a second 156 (because I love them so much!) which is red, hence the red spoiler.

Now is anyone actually interested in it?!

Nareman.

In my opinion, any kind of rear spoiler on a 156, lives up to its name, i.e. spoils its gracious looks. Good thing that you're removing it! Fortunetly Alfa didn't fit one on the GTA. The kit that they fit on it is as far as I would go on a 156. While giving it meaner looks, it preserves the lines that a spoiler on the boot would have destroyed. Sorry anyone who have a spoilered 156, but that it is how I see it.

But, there are cars that do need one to look as intended, a Supra , is hideous without a spoiler, obviously; and my previos car, from which I posted pictures a while ago, also needs the spoiler to look good.

But not a 156.

Spoiled cheese,

Hi Sedici,

I am also planning to remove the spoiler. It was there since I bought it. Did you remove it yourself or got it done somewhere? I am concern about the wiring as it is connected to the 3r breaking light.

No intention to sell off the spoiler though. The 156 looks great without the spoiler !
